ATO Grants extension to enrol and pay Employees for the first two fortnights

The ATO has now announced an extension of time to 31 May for employers who wish to enrol for the first two JobKeeper fortnights.

In addition,employers will have until 8 May to ensure all eligible employees are paid a minimum of $1,500 per fortnight for the first two JobKeeper fortnights (30 March – 12 April, 13 April – 26 April).
 
This has been welcomed by SME’s struggling to close the gap between payment of staff wages and JobKeeper reimbursement from the ATO.

We still recommend all eligible employers to enrol now to ensure you receive the JobKeeper payments as soon as possible.

Key dates

• 4 May 2020: Confirmation of eligible employees commences
• 8 May 2020: Ensure payment of a minimum of $1,500 for the first two Job Keeper fortnights are made to all eligible employees
• 31 May 2020: JobKeeper enrolment deadline.
